The story of Sunrise Honey can be traced back three generations to Maggie's grandfather, who began raising bees in the 1970s. Growing up around bees and honey instilled a love of all things bees and honey and made it Maggie's lifelong dream to someday have a hive of her own.
Sunrise Honey officially began in February 2022 when we bought our 1883 farmhouse right in downtown McHenry, IL. The large yard and field surrounding the house is the perfect place for honeybees to get to work. The wide variety of natural wildflowers in our area ensures the highest quality, most delicious honey, all while helping to keep our natural ecosystem thriving.
